Trees X Mental Health Monday

So, i'm starting a series on mental health where i'll be posting on you guessed it Monday's. Every Monday I intend to offer some knowledge on how you can better manage your mental health. Today's topic is Trees.

I've come along way since creating the above piece in 2019...There's a thinking tree as we call it, me and my brother have been going to separately for years to help clear our minds. It has this cool area to sit on and is like 3 trees in one. I once really needed to go visit the thinking tree after a really heavy day of mental health and life events occurring. The thinking tree passed a lot of information to me,  it was like meditating and answers coming but I was just thinking things over and the tree had some wisdom it wanted to share. Trees are magic man they have fucking souls each tree has it's own energy, they experience the world just like we do in the sense they're conscious beings, only their life is a lot longer than ours and they can't move; they gotta wrap the roots around each other for protection against the strong winds/bad weather and wait for better days to come. So the main lesson from the thinking tree is remember your roots, community is important for maintaining mental health that's how you make it to the better days. "Don't fight the strong winds, grow stronger roots". Furthermore, trees have the most important job they're life givers! (oxygen for us and a home for the animals).

But did you know trees are also really good for your health? 'Time spent among trees increases the levels of Oxytocin, which is the hormone responsible for feeling calm and the hormones Serotonin and Dopamine are also produced which make you feel happier'. So that explains why the thinking tree is so powerful. 'Trees can improve our cognitive and emotional abilities as well as give our creativity a boost, from the breathing space the tree provides for grounding yourself.'

When did you last spend time with a tree?

Till next time,

Stevie
