How To Live With More Intent, Focus and Purpose

This post is for everyone regardless if you have mental health problems or not. Being determined to do something, having the required focus to do that something and feeling as though you have purpose in life are all really important things for anyone but especially those with mental health problems.

How To Live With More Intent, Focus and Purpose:

Spend less time on social media, it's really not good for anyone to be on it 24/7 even if it's your job. Hustle culture is dangerous and it can have you thinking you need to be glued to your socials and always creating content for which ultimately leads to burnout - this is not sustainable for your mental health to consistently not get the adequate rest and recovery time from a hard days work.

Instead try make time to be quiet just for a moment, give your brain a break by doing nothing much maybe just colouring in a colouring book or go for a walk paying attention to the world around you, notice the sky, what you can smell and sounds you can hear. If you're inside pay attention to the colours you can see, things you can hear, smell(s) or shapes you can find *no I don't mean your sick dance moves although bro you do you dancing is always good*

Define who you are and what you might want. Figuring out who you are now (which could be difficult) and what good/changes could be doing to improve yourself and your life. Write it down if this is easier.

Dream big that means having an end goal and figure out a plan to get that in place, take action make the daily goals and make sure they're small achievable ones; daily to do lists helps with not only productivity but building self confidence and maintaining a healthy mindset, you can also give yourself a sticker for achieving the todo list item or simply tick it off - both feel rewarding, a sticker gives extra motivation for some reason.

Connect with people around you in the real world, be open and know things don't always go to plan. Fail bravely. My advice is to join groups, start a new hobby or go to the gym if that's more your thing. Be open to the different paths that your life may offer you. It may take you to a far more beautiful place than you ever imagined.

Nurture yourself, be gentle with your soul; "You are a fragile, strong, beautiful human, capable of incredible things. Take the time to recognise that you are worth the journey."

Till next time,
